Not recommended for interchangeable use. Interior and exterior wall putties have different formulations: exterior putty (R2/GM12) has poor breathability for interior use, while interior putty (R1/GM11) lacks weather resistance for exterior applications. Using R2 indoors may cause moisture retention, and using R1 outdoors will result in rapid deterioration due to UV exposure and weather conditions.

Key differences: GM11 offers superior fineness (whiteness ≥90%), washability (≥500 scrub cycles), and compatibility with premium paints. R1 is cost-effective with good basic performance (whiteness ≥85%). Choose R1 for standard renovation projects and GM11 for high-end applications requiring superior wall texture and durability.

"Flexible" refers to the elastic formulation with elongation at break ≥10%, allowing the putty to stretch without cracking. R4 can accommodate crack movements ≤2mm, making it ideal for expansion joint areas, structural movement zones, and vibration-prone environments where rigid putties would crack.

Single coat thickness should not exceed 5mm. For thicker applications, apply in 2 coats with 24+ hour intervals between applications. Exceeding 5mm in single application may cause shrinkage cracking and poor adhesion. Multiple thin coats ensure better bonding and uniform drying.

Weather resistance maintains 5-8 years performance. GM12 offers superior 800h artificial aging resistance vs R2's 500h. Both products are formulated with salt spray corrosion resistance for coastal environments and will not powder or rust when properly applied. GM12 is specifically recommended for coastal applications due to enhanced anti-pollution properties.

Mixed putty must be used within 2-4 hours. Do not add water to reuse unused mixed putty as this will compromise adhesion strength and performance. The chemical bonding process begins immediately upon mixing, and re-tempering with water disrupts this process, leading to poor bonding and potential failure.

Only R4 flexible putty can be applied on damp substrates. For humid construction: ensure no standing water, extend drying time, maintain good ventilation, and avoid construction during high humidity periods. Other products require completely dry substrates to ensure proper adhesion and prevent future adhesion failure.

Most products require sanding except some no-sand formulations. Sanding times: R1 after 24-48h full dry, R2 after 24-48h, R3 after 48h (coarse texture), R4 after 24-48h, GM11/GM12 after 24-48h. Ensure complete drying before sanding to prevent surface damage and achieve optimal smoothness.

All products have 12-month shelf life under proper storage conditions. Store in dry, cool, ventilated areas, protect from moisture to prevent clumping. Keep packaging sealed, avoid direct sunlight, maintain temperature 5-35°C, and ensure good air circulation in storage areas.

Apply topcoat after complete drying: 24-48h after full cure depending on product type, temperature, and humidity. Ensure wall surface is completely dry with no dusting before paint application. Test a small area first to confirm proper adhesion and compatibility with your chosen paint system.
